Mod request: 3D for IL-2 with Nvidia 3D Vision glasses
#1

A quick technology question... if it's possible it can be both funny and realistic!

Nvidia launched recently the 3D Vision glasses, that actually are compatible with 350 games, and only 2 of that list are simulators (FSX and FS2004).

Demo of the device... depending on its success, it's a candidate to match the "must have" that represent the Track IR:

I'm missing IL-2 on that list! Smile

Afaik you dont need a mod for that.
Your Hardware must support the 3d - driver and thats it.

i remember seeing a thing on this a few months back. if i remember correctly the guy was saying it wasnt good for IL2, in that, it only shows 3d in 640 x 480.

That should be other device, since these are a remote coordinately polarized glasses to use with a 120 hz monitor capable of 1600x1050 res.

I've been investigating more sinc I've found this very interesting, and... IL-2 is NOT compatible with it. Maybe who says that did not test the DirectX mode insted of the Open GL. I say this because other simulatores like FSX, FS2004, Lomac and Black Shark are well compatible... but why not IL-2?

Also, I'm worrying about the use of track IR simultaneously, so it has an IR emitter to the glasses that can conflict with TIR. Sad

Here's a more detailed review. It also eats lots of FPS! Sad
