I would like to see some kind of gunship maybe AC-47 like this one http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AC-47_Spooky and some kind of airsupport Campaign.

Nice, but the AC47's did not see service until Vietnam. First operational AC47 was 1964 and only 6 were operational by mid 1965.

I agree, that would really add an element to this game that really has not been covered before. Definately would allow for some interesting new missions and a different angle to play from ! Wouldnt think that it would really be that different to model.

Well, the Li-2 is a "gunship". Plus it carries bombs.

the c47 was used as aexpearmental gun ship in 1944 or late 1943 in with 4 to 6 .30brownings or .50 m2s fireing out the cargo doors one of gen. kenadey's specel prog. like theb 25h with 8 .50s in the nose
it had some use in PTO and KTO
noe vitnam did it get its name of gun ship AC47
thay had a show on the miltry chancl on it last month

I think the 'Experimental C47' Will be the only thing close enough to having a gunship in Il-2
