What prop mod are you using, and do you have a photo editing program?Look in your prop mod folder there should be either a TARGA file or a bmp file in a folder called b29 prop ,reduce the level or the saturation of the file if you have a photo editing program.

I just looked in my prop mod folder and mine uses a TARGA file called B29blade located in the textures folder.

I'm not using any prop mod. There is a PropTex in my mods folder, but it's disabled.

Then your using stock game files. No way to edit. How do you know they are disabled,is there a minus sign in the front of the name?

Isn't there an area of prop disk in the b-29 skins?

Yeah, there's a minus sign. If I'm using the stock disks, then wouldn't all prop disks be that dark.

I just looked at a couple of the skins, didn't see it

The prop in the skin is right in the middle of the skin just about a inch down from the top under some external stuff.I don't think changing those would have any effect on the prop disk in game though.Only thing you can do is try it.And to answer your question ,no not necessarily there may be more than one embedded TARGA file that the game draws off of for prop disks for different planes.

If you have a mod that contains plane folder, find these two folders B-29(multi) and B-29(USA) inside these folder find propellor.mat files open those with notepad
and find this line:
Colorscale 1.0 1.0 1.0 1.0
change the last value to for example 0.6. lower value will give more transparency.

*If you don't have such mod you can create these paths like:
MODS\my_b29\3do\plane\B-29(multi) and
MODS\my_b29\3do\plane\B-29(USA) you can extract propellor. mat file by sfs extractor.

I have B29 and B29_Silver_Plate folders in the MODS folder. The B29_Silver_Plate has the two other folders you mentioned along with the propellor.mat files. I edited them and it worked fine for the Silver Plate version, but the B29 folder has no propellor.mat file in it.

Well, perhaps inside your B29 folder is a 3do folder and some hashed file inside that 3do folder make plane folder and inside this plane folder create both B-29(multi) and B-29(USA ), copy one propellor.mat file that you have edited from "B29_Silver_Plate" and paste it inside these B-29 folders! that is it.

Thanks for the information Stuka_40 I always wanted the B 29 prop disc made lighter too, it looked strange at long distance.

Can I just point out that the folder that needs to be created in B-29/3do/Plane is B-29(multi1)

stuka_40,

I had already tried that. It didn't work.
