Out of interest if someone were to take this project up in 3DSMax how long would it take to fully develop it?
Surely they could use Ranwers' model as a starter point and make it a lot more seamless...

I just want the bird in the air whether it is a "frankenplane" or a scratchbuilt aircraft from 3DS.

its bloody aweful to be frank, no i cant do a better job but still...im a firm beliver that its 3d max planes all the way, none of this franken plane sstuff anymore, it smakes it impossible to skin properly, and its never quite right, if you honestly think that looks like a baracuda you need you eyes checked, the cuda had a kinked cockpit, lower at the fron, the gear was a pigs arse and the wing folding was spectacular at best. Sorry if im being overly offensive, but like boosher said ...no...just no.

Guys, constructive criticism is one thing, but completely and utterly belittling someone's hard work is uncalled for.

Now that was totaly uncalled for I mean everyone is entitled to his own opinion but this just plain rude. So why don't you show us something what you made and if that is from an outstanding quality like this, maybe then you can give your critics in a personal PM the next time instead of putting someone at garbage.

I think it should be a legal thing to tell in public if you are not contend with someones particular peace of work or you think it's leading to a wrong direction. If you keep to the facts and don't use foul language it is far from beeing offense or a downset of the creator himself. On the other hand one should not draw his rapier on every provocation obviously made from lack of sense.

Ps: If I might add: although i would love to see the barracude ingame, I am not certain if a "frankenplane"-barracuda really would ever be satisfactory. So maybe we all should reconsider if we don't encourage someone to spend efford to an ill-fated project just because we want a plane more to include in our collection and we don't have to do anything to it (but cheerio all the time) anyway.

i was merely pointing out your total lack off respect towards others but after your reply i rest my case. For what my contribution is?? I download whatever is made. Without people like me downloading, there would be no point in making MODs in the first place.

4./JG53_Howlin, thanks for your contributions and give it up, there is a market for frankenplanes and the quality that people are willing to accept has been slipping lately, as has the relevance of AAA.

It appears it takes as much work to turn out substandard mods as it does for quality mods and since there is a market for both, we should just let those who want mostly names in their plane list, no matter the relationship to what the plane actually looks like to, enjoy their game.

It's a mod request / discussion. All ranwers did was post an image of a Baracuda he'd made for his own personal use, showing that they are out there. The topic stays. It may yet become a wip and then released new a/c.

I agree, why shouldn't Ranwers show off his handiwork? Personally, I'd love to have that Barracuda on my hard drive, but the release is a matter for those making it. This isn't a public service site.

That said, if you publicise your work, expect a response. Your audience is waiting Ranwers!

The "purist" approach always breeds conservatism and... melancholy! I too find Ranwers' mods terribly exciting, great fun to play with and indispensable add ons to our favourite sim; this does not preclude the creation of "real" new planes. I find the whole discussion totally pointless...
