I want to add new aircraft
#1

Me again with the questions  As I am new to this, I did try the search function but I was bombarded with pages of info and I really do need my beauty sleep

Basically, I have a fresh install of IL2 46, updated to 4.08, UI 1.1 updated and IL2 Stab. Tonight I finally got my B17 cockpits working as well as the C47, so I figured I did well not to ask the same ol questions again. Only took me four hours, but I did it.
Anyhow, I want to install a couple of things and I was reluctant at first, so I have put another few hours into researching here, but to no definitive avail.
What I want to do is

1) Install the TigermothV2. - I found after several failed attempts that I needed RWD-8, so I have that ready. Do I need to use the "Wrapper" and "AC Installer 3.8?

2) The patch to change my language back to English - This is a self installing package, which is great, but should I let it overwrite all the files it wants too? and

3) Slipry's Engine fire, dust and wheel screech mod. - I know there are some of these mods in the UI, but I would like to check these out too, so if I put a "-" in front of the original files then they should be safe when I install Slipry's. Correct me if I got that wrong please.

OK, that is enough for me to be getting on with, so I hope the knowledgeable types in here have a chance to answer these while I get my sorry ass off to bed as it is already 2am here.

Cheers and thanks to all

Our squad recently installed the Tigermoth into U.I.v1.1, and it worked perfectly. None of us has ever separately installed the RWD-8. In fact, it is listed as included in U.I.v1.1. We just followed the instructions with the Tigermoth for editing files, like air.ini, etc. No need to install the wrapper (it's part of U.I.) and no need to run an aircraft installer. (AFAIK, the Tigermoth uses an existing FM.)

Have you checked to see if the RWD-8 is already in your game?

What happened in the "failed attempts" to add the Tigermoth?

Hmm, seems there is more to this than I remember  What I have done after the UI is installed is, I did my cockpit modifications and then I extracted the TigerMoth V2 into the mods folder. the bit I did not do, is the "air.ini". This is something new to me so if you could shed any light on what to do, that would be great. I did have a brief look for air.ini, but did not see it anywhere, where should it be? Also, you mentioned "etc", is there more to do as well?
Sorry to be a pest, but this is a bit new on me. This game has gone places I never knew it could Confusedhock: The best I ever did was put skins in and some audio files back in the FB-AEP-PF 4.03 days.

There is a text file in the Tigermoth download, called add.txt, which contains the lines that need to be added to the air.ini, the plane_ru.properties, and the weapons_ru.properties files.

air.ini is in ...\MODS\STD\com\maddox\il2\objects

plane_ru and weapons_ru are in ...\MODS\STD\i18n

Back up these files before editing, as a mistake can be fatal.

Now if I might be so bold as to ask if anyone can assist me with the remaining two issues below please

2) The patch to change my language back to English - This is a self installing package, which is great, but should I let it overwrite all the files it wants too? and
