nice.

Ok, can you put 3 or 4 rotating smokes equally spaced around the center instead of just 1?
I think you got a problem your vertical ascension, not being that vertical. Tongue
Surface smoke should spread a bit more from the impact zone.

That was fantastic. I think the slanted ascension is great, but a tiny bit too soon. The under-glow for the mushroom head is too weak and too yellow, but that can't really be helped. The brightness factor needs to stay higher than average for a little while until the under-glow knocks out. the smoke was a little too white. It needs to be grayer, but the shock wave ground smoke can stay the same, but a little brown. If we made the ground dust the way the real thing was, it would look weird. Good luck. You've already gone farther than ever before. THANKS!!

It looks amazing! Confusedhock: Maybe make the smoker a little darker in the start fading to a light color?
I would love to see such an effect on an exploding ammunition boat?

Impressive... Most impressive.

I noticed a lot of the atomic weapon mods have the same uniform color though throughout the mushroom and the top of the mushroom cloud isn't usually proportional to the column below it. Here's a few pics that I've come across over the years studying Cold War-era nuclear bomb tests. You can get a real good, and sobering, look at them by watching "Trinity and Beyond" narrated by William Shatner. :o

Hello, friends.
Thanks to all for your nice words and help. Big Grin

The IL-2's engine is an old engine and the original project doesn't have an exclusive function for big explosions.
So we need to make some choices.
There are limitations in the number of particles, the color, the velocity and so on.
Every smoke particle starts where the bomb hits the ground and we need imagination to simulate as a real explosion.
With a bigger circle of ground smoke, the smokes tend to be more sparce and unreal.
The fireball is very real as the pictures posted.
We have only two colors, the start and the end, and only two sizes for each particles system.
I did try to simulate wind effect, but we need to simulate more than ten minutes in 135 seconds and I think it looks good.
I'm trying to reduce the number of sprites and change to a color more gray, as you guys suggested.
The big particles, increases the lags, and the small ones, increases the number of particles to avoid sparce blobs.

I can't answer more quick because I have difficulty with English language.
Sorry for that.

I thought this might help with the animations as they show, in rather well detail, the dynamics of the explosion and it's shape. This is footage from "Trinity and Beyond".
