Gentlemen, I have been playing an offline campaign using the DGEN and it starts over Kiev in the 109 E-7/Z. I have noticed that about every other mission or so, I lose my engine under circumstances that surprise me--that is, power is less than 100%, no radical maneuvers, and sometimes even just taking off and gently banking into formation.

I don't have this issue on any other plane or even version of the 109.

It makes flying over enemy territory a very dicey issue.

It's related to the GM-1 boost.

The GM-1 boost is intended for high altitude performance and it will destroy your engine if used incorrectly.
So, don't use the boost when below... well I can't remember, but not below 6000m I'd guess, someone is welcome to fill in the blanks in my knowledge about this, but I know it's due to the boost.

Run it at full power without boost and you'll never have that problem again :wink:

Viper speaks the truth, use GM1 below 6k meters and engine gets toasted
