Hi everyone this is my first post looks good around here...
I have just got myself a new comp details:
amd phenom II x 4 945 3ghz
9600gt 1gig nvida
4 gig ram
vista premium 64
If you need more details let me know.

I used to have great fun with il2 a few years back, when I found il2 1946 works ??? on vista I ordered it from amazon arrived yesterday and have been trying to install ever since, I would love to get into it again, I have tried disable uac run as admin but no joy also i'm not exactly at ease with poking around the innerds of vista etc not much experience I need to be led by the hand by more knowlagable people, hence my cry for help I have as we speak got it copied from disc to c/games/il2 and contains all the files from the disc and uac is disabled.
Anyone out there that can help an old vet............

Did you install it using the installer that should auto-run?

it won't work to just copy the contents of the DVD onto the harddrive.

You need to open the DVD, and run the file that's called a.exe, that is the setup file if the other ones don't work.

thanks for the reply is that the one in the 1033 folder or set up launcher and should i install to c/games/il2 or programsx86

Ok I uninstalled and cleared the c/games/il2 folder and installed a.exe to il2 folder doulble click on icon get the propeller pointer then nothing what do I need to do next thanks vern

Right set everything to run xp and as admin il2 icon now on desktop disc runs then stops asking for DDRAW.dll any ideas

It would appear that there is an issue with securon and I am another sufferer of the "spinning disk/securom" issue and I need the us version of the il2fb.exe does anyone have a copy of this they can email me or tell me where I can get it
