The schrapnel hitting the plane sounds too much like some kind of Starwars Laser blast. The explosions are nice though and if memory serves came with the Battlesounds V2 mod about 4mos ago.

You may get a better effect if you take and make a box with different sides. 1 cardboard, 1 alluminium and 1 wood. Then put a mic in the box and throw some gravel at it from a distance of about 10 ft or so. Should give you the effect you're looking for.

I've added or replaced most of the explosions in that mod. There was only one sound that appealed to me, so its in there, but most of what you hear has been implemented by myself.

That chirping you hear is supposed to be bullet ricochets. I would like to figure out how to separate flak impacts from machine gun impacts.
I have a couple really good flack impact sounds already done that include the shrapnel rattling in the plane, but if i switch that sound then it will sound like garbage when the machine guns hit.
I might have to configure my own prs for that.
The best i can do now is probably cycle the sounds, so at least it doesn't chirp every single time the shrapnel hits.

If i include the shrapnel impact with the explosion track, then it will only sound good when you are actually hit, otherwise you would hear shrapnel at a distance which really gives the explosion a canned effect, which is worse, imo.

as for posting the P-47 sounds, that is also a WIP, and there are a few other things that should be done but i'm learning as i go, so please be patient.

Perhaps I can help with the richocet sound. Somewhere in my Iraq videos, I have a clip from when we were under attack an were receiving MG fire. Had a lot of richocets around us as we were in an uparmored Hummer.

what ever input you can provide would be great.
There is one thing i've learned with the sound engines in video games, and that's if you produce the perfect representation of the sound, it may not turn out that way in the game because the 3d engine takes it and molds it to the enviornment in the game. So it takes a bit of patience with these things, and i'm glad to get some honest feedback.

i actually was able to introduce more sounds to the impact portion of the sound engine, so there is more variety and randomness when the flak hits, now.

let me direct you to the link at the top of the thread. it points to another thread where i've posted the sound mod so you can start to use it and get a better feel for the sounds.
