Hopefully they do NOT stop when they see air enemy, do they? or is mod only land based?

Will they continue to move if they see an inferior unit [AA truck] ?

It sounds like a great mod if they ONLY stop for tank to tank interactions... otherwise, for my maps, they will not make it to their waypoints...

Hi!

First thanks for this mod, i tested it (off line) and it seems it causes interruptions in tanks moving sound.
I tested it 4 times with same mission, with and without this mod activated, and the tanks engine sound disappeared and comeback
later after 10 or 15 seconds (and some times the engine sound never comebacks), but the other explosion and tanks gun fire sounds were there, during whole mission!
can someone else confirm this, thanks.
Otherwise it is better than the default one, the tanks are more intelligent (careful) than before in there movements and firing.

Here you have the files that you need to drop into your MDS installation.

However, I will not include this mod in the final release. Only because this mod makes your tanks stationary when they are locked to a target. I like my tanks moving, even if they behave strange. I like them to close the distance. So, keep dear to these files in case you like it. And the sounds disappear because tank is static. When new target is being acquired, the sound is back where it is. And once the target is locked, no more engine sound...

So, TigerShark, to answer your question: they will stop, no matter what the target is. Even if it is a simple harmless car Smile

The strange thing is that this sound interruptions is remained also when the tanks continue there movement!

very interesting mod!
but it conflict with my mod on AAA of Tanks

and i think, that tanks dont stop on every enemy, because it isn't very realistic.please try fix it Smile
so i think, when your work will be ready it will be needed to combinate our mods for correct work Smile
it will be great mod-it added new tanks in game ! Smile

Correct me if I'm wrong about this but I don't think most WWII era tanks could fire their main gun while moving.

They could fire the main cannon while moving but it wasn't as accurate as when they where standing still.
It mostly depended on the suspension how stable it made the tank when it was moving
and also to hit a target you needed good targetting optics.

Russian tanks in the early eastern front years usually attacked in large groups trying to get as close as possible at full speed and firing with all there cannons and guns.

I really enjoy this mod, when paired with some tweaks I've made to the technics.ini file it really makes the ground battles come alive. Nothing like watching a column of T-34s stop at the crest of a hill and start hammering the germans spread out before them.
