Seems like posting here is becoming a bit of a habit...anyway, i haven't played il2 for a few days and now when i try to run it, it won't even start. no CTD, it just won't play. i tried running as admin, but that didn't do anything either. :?

Do you launch the game from a desktop shortcut?

If so, try launching with the one in the game folder.

Sometimes, at least for me, desktop shortcuts decide to quit working and I just create a new shortcut and all is well.

It is probably not that simple but worth a quick shot.

Sometimes it can happen , you click IL2 shortcut and then nothing shows up , no game loading
but IL2 can skip loading game and will jump only to Windows Task Manager ( Ctrl+Alt+Delete )
to be running but only as a task process without game launching.
It's always worth to look in there to see if IL2 is running under processes .
All I have to do is click on il2fb.exe in Windows Task Manager to " end task " clicking yes to
warning and then IL2 1946 process will exit otherwise I can try to start game 100 times and it
will not start if the process is already running in Windows Task manager .
IL2 process must be stopped first and then starting again game will make it work like a charm .
It's not too often IL2 switching right in to Windows Task Manager processes task without launching
game loading screen but it happen sometimes with my system with XP Professional

neither of those ideas worked :???: i really don't want to have to reinstall il2, but with my new computer its just been one thing after another

i guess 'll have to reinstall, don't really want to but if it'll solve the problem...
