all new additions are great, but is it actually possible to operate photo recon equipment? Would be gret if you can / it could be done

Annoying the annoying, so you don't have to.

It sure would give an extra dimension to the online sessions.
A huge amount of the flights over enemy territory were photo recon.

Extra info:
The G-8 was a G-6 converted to the reconnaissance role. It entered service in 1944. It was produced with either one Rb 50/30 camera or two Rb 12.7/7x9 cameras behind the cockpit and a Robot II camera in the wing, aimed via the gunsight.

well, because in Il2 there are no working cameras.

as of yet and maybe for quite some time to come.

it is the best that is possible maybe.

Fair enough, but then I guess my request is in order. As a recon plane without camera is like a bomber without bombs.

True,

But you must remember the limitations of the game engine.

One possible Idea, Is to have another 'gunner seat' where the camera would be, free to move within its own limits. And obviously which you can switch to. So you are able to take screen shots as pictures. Your not really gunna use them else where in game. Thats the only form of realistic camera function for the recon aircraft I can think of.

Agree Cipher.
For online squadrons you could post those pictures in the debrief as evidence that you actually have fulfilled your task.
I doubt that it's possible to add it to your score in game as with the bombs hits.
