'MODS' folder does not exist
#1

Hi,

You'll probably think this is a really dumb question, but I'm new to the art of downloading mods. Anyway, I thought I had downloaded everything I needed for mods to be able to work - sound mod 9.3 and a/c installer. However, when I try to download a new aircraft I'm requested to extract files to the 'MODS' folder, which under normal circumstances would be no problem... except that said folder does not seem to exist! Have I missed something?

All suggestions/tips welcome.

Thanks,

That's one way to do it but you won't have an STD folder. Run an aircraft with an automatic installer and see if it works. Remember, you can't automatically install planes directly to yout MODS folder if you're running SFX 9.3 (I think).

"The Mega pack is for 4.08 so don't use it unless you stay 4.08. It happened to me so what I did was deleted it. Reinstall IL-2 and asked a lot of the same ole questions. Read instructions and know what mod does what and goes where or you will spend most of your time here, reading this and what has been done wrong over and over again".

I have a copy of IL-2 for Online and another for Offline to mod to my hearts desire.

If a simmer or modder makes a copy of IL-2 and a copy of any files to be kept in safe keeping while you experiment with the mods, then there should never be a need to reinstall anything. This will save a bunch of guys many combined hours if they follow this wise method of mod safety. Big Grin
