When I try to add required text for mods to the air.ini, plane_ru.properties, and weapons_ru.properties I recieve this message:

Cannot create the C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Il-2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS\STD\com\maddox\il2\objects\air.ini file

Make sure that the path and file name are correct.

What is happening? Why can't I add the required text so that the mods will work? The .exe mods work like a dream.

Hello Snap
Try saving your new file to desktop then replacing the original that way. I find once Ive done it that way I am not asked again.
PS goes with out saying back up your original just in case of problems.

Sounds like your trying to add your info to read only files.Right click on the files and look at them in properties If they are read only change them.

Turns out that the files were read only. Problem should be solved. THANK YOU.
