[Download] MiG-15(bis) US_Grant Template Update
#1

This is a little update for the template that US_Grant made. His template for the MiG-15(bis) can be found here: viewtopic.php?t=21375

The following things have been added or updated:
  • Mask Layer
  • Internals

I have made a mask for the template (which is for those who don't know a simple layer which colours in all the areas of the skin which are not mapped onto the aircraft). It also makes the the skin file look more tidy and it is easier to see where to paint, what ends where etc... To line things up exactly I would recommend you to use the UV mapping to see exactly where everything ends and starts but this mask is pretty accurate enough to do it's job Wink

While I was making the mask I noticed that the internals were quite a bit off in some places, the flaps on the right side of the aircraft being completely different to the left and off it's mapping area, so I've resized and moved them so now they all fit very nicely.

Example: (full size skin in jpg)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Delete the two folders named "Credits Do Not Remove" and "Internals" on your MiG-15 Template.
  2. Duplicate the 2 folders and the mask layer in my update psd file onto your MiG-15 Template.
  3. Place the 2 folders and the mask layer directly underneath the folder named "EXPLANATIONS".

The top 4 things should look like this in the MiG-15 template when you are done:

EXPLANATIONS (folder)
Credits Do Not Remove (folder)
Internals (folder)
Mask [F22-Raptor-2006] (layer)

Sorry, but I'm totally lost on how to apply this update. The instructions mention 'folders', but the only thing that came with the download is a psd file.....no folders.

Is there something that I am missing here??

If you opened Grant's template with photoshop then you will see on the right side of your screen (by default) the layers window. When you organise layers you rename them and also make folders to put the layers in. That's what I mean by folders.

Here's a picture if you are still not sure:

Sorry, I use GIMP. I guess this won't work for me then. No folders in GIMP.
