For those who need it, you can now again download the latest SAS buttons (works with and better than UI1.2 and is properly packed, just dont use their sounds)

NOTE:THESE LINKS WILL BE DOWN INTERMITTENTLY ON FRIDAY 16 OCT WHILE WE WORK ON THE DATABASE

http://specialaircraftservice.com/unite ... _v2.21.zip

Our 4.09 modactivator for previously modded games:

http://specialaircraftservice.com/SASAC ... emodded.7z

or for clean installs:

http://specialaircraftservice.com/SASAC ... ACTv2.3.7z
(now full debugged mig15 and Sabre support, and ful support of ui1.2, and of course 4.09m)

I provide these links "as is" and we will not be able to support them here in the news forum.

I got my game to patch all the way up using 4.09m and UI 1.2 using the following method:

1. Clean install of IL-2 patched to 4.08m

2. Install UI 1.1

3. Install UI 1.2 with patch

4. Manually install 4.09m (just to see if there was any conflicts), and there were none.

5. Manually install the 4.09m skin pack, again to make sure that there was no conflicts (none).

6. Install SASMODACTv2.1_for_Premodded and make the changes to the files he listed in his "readme". This is really easy if you have never done it because he lists all the files necessay and their addons.

7. Added the SAS_Buttons_v2.3 per the instructions (UI 1.2 compliant) and renamed the original UI 1.2 buttons file to prevent crashes.

8. Finally used the SAS presets sound file as a base (to ensure all the new planes have engine sounds) and then installed the UI 1.2 presets sounds file on top of the SAS presets sounds file.

Absolutely nothing difficult, just time consuming if you follow all the instructions that are in the SAS mod folder's readme files. And a small side point, I did not get into IL-2 until two weeks ago (a real IL-2 noob), so if I can do it, you can too.

Dietz:
I just followed all the SAS instructions on what files to update with the information SAS provided. As for adding additional planes, just add the information that the creaters provide for the air.ini, planes_ru, and weapons_ru files.

The MODACT is still at 2.1 (the MODACT 2.3 is a typo), but the buttons are now up to 2.4 and SAS is back on line as of Saturday Oct 24: http://specialaircraftservice.com/main/ ... d,2.0.html

Now that SAS is down once again, is there a chance that someone would provided a temporary link for the mod activator.

The SAS site got attacked just as I decided to give 4.09m a try. Talk about timing. Cry

Guys, dont panic too much. the SAS will be back in some form or another. it may take a while but we will get there.

PLEASE DONT POST SAS MODS ELSEWHERE, EXCEPT HERE, even at sites that "offer to help". We have all our mods backed up. We have our whole site backed up. Nothing is lost.

In a day or two I will post a link to a webpage that will contain raw links to all the essential stuff, and we will keep it updated.

Ralph....not today, ok?
