Massive campaign using most of the maps and lots of jets
I've been obsessing about doing a massive campaign involving almost every stock 4.09 map and lots of jets to recreate a 1946 "what if" on a Soviet invasion. I've got it all mapped out and thought out. I need to know would it be better to try using my tried and true method of doing individual missions using the FMB and linking them or try and learning Lowengrin's DCG. I have no idea what can be done in DCG or even a vague notion of how it does its magic.
Can someone give me a quick idea of what DCG does and can it be used to link different maps together in one big campaign? Is it easier to use DCG for my purpose than to painstakingly place everything in LMB? Can I incorporate a map that has never been used in a DCG campaign? Can you start a DCG campaign from scratch? Is there a tutorial anywhere (I can't find it if there is)?
I appreciate any assistance and I'll fill you in more on my ideas later about a huge jet campaign based on Plan Griddle. The plan to counter a Soviet invasion in 1946-48.

Hi,
Yes sure, here is a good Guide:
http://allaircraftsimulations.com/forum/...hlight=dcg
DCG Site:
http://www.lowengrin.com there is also a good Guide by Tailspin
Hope it helps
This looks fantastic! Thank you and now I go on to waste months of my life on this project. Ha.
Oh oh now I thing I have an even bigger problem. How am I going to get US/Brits/French/German to fight Soviets in DCG?
That might work. Thanks.
I was hoping to do this without modes but we'll have to see if that is possible.
I have three missions done.
A secrete mission to liberate 3 ME 323 loads full of German scientists along with their wonder weapons. It's a race to the West German boarder following a path devised by a Soviet defector.
The first strategic bombing mission from Egypt hitting the Crimean area oil production. B29s escorted by YP80s and 262s from Turkey vs Soviets flying captured and re manufactured BI 6, ME 163, HE Lerch III with missiles. It's a hoot. Plus there is a furball with P-38s and Yak 9s down low.
Then a night bombing mission with B17s and P51Ds vs Yak 9s.
Then we have the "Line in the sand" opening battle at the foot of the Pyrenees Mountains with TU2s, MIG 9s, IL10s, AR234s, Yak 13s and Yak 9s vs Go 229s, YP80s, P-38s, and TA 183s. This is a no holds barred stop em at all costs battle by the "Nato" forces to stop the Soviet advance in Europe.
These missions are all based on JCS Plan Griddle and my imagination of course.
I'm finishing up a new mission where the Soviet onslaught is temporarily held at bay to allow the escape of valuble assets by truck and train.
Keep the bridgehead open as long as you can to get as many assets across the river and then blow the bridges before the Soviet forces capture them.
Not too many jets in this one as it is early in the war. Just tons of late model piston aircraft as neither side has had time to produce many jets and are holding them back from combat. Tempest vs Yak9, P - 38 vs Lagg 7, P 47 vs TU 2, P51 vs IL10, PE3 vs ME 410 etc. Maybe a few token YP80s and 262s.
It's a real furball down low and dirty.[/img]
you cannot use the forgotten cuntries nations in DCG, it is nt compatible, hardcoded. at least the last time Lowengrins forum said so.
so no blue US vs red USSR with DCG, i'm afraid
Thank you. It's nice to have a final word so I can proceed using FMB. Tedious but kind of fun. Keeps me out of trouble.
So I'm getting carried away as usual with my missions.
I have all sorts of useless action going on but I just can't help my self.
I mean does it really matter that there are actually tanks about to cross that bridge before you blow it with your flight of P47Ds or that at the same time some P38Ls are wasting another bunch of bunch of Soviet tanks at the the other bridge 2 miles north or that at the same time their is a huge air superiority battle being fought at 30,000 feet between YP80s, ME262s and Lagg7Rs or that at the same time RAF Tempests are lifting off to clean up any other armored units in the area or that there are 12 Lagg 7s and Yak 9s patrolling the area all being shot at by AAA and two trains full of ammo and fuel are racing away from the bridge?
Well the answer is no. So I've decided to use my obsession and create multiple campaigns using the same mission.
So out of that mission there will be a mission for the 47D pilot campaign and a mission for the Yak 9 campaign and a mission for the YP80 campaign and a mission for the ME262 campaign, etc.
So I will have about maybe 30 missions in each campaign with probably 10 campaigns all using the same 30 missions but from a different viewpoint. Get it?
I'm insane I tell you absolutely mad.
Anyone want to help?
