National generic skins
#1

Hi, I got some generic skins into the game, I was wondering if and how new skins could be alocated for specific nations other than the single nation as in the game my Russian skins are now taking up several of the Multiple1 spots and are wrong for everyone else. I have noticed that some mods have multiple national skins notably the P-24. How is this done if it can be outside an aircraft mod.

You basically have two plane folders for each plane

- F4F3(USA)
- F4F3(Multi1)

Some planes only have one folder, some have 3 or 4 (like 109's) it just depends. But most planes have two folders.

Inside each plane folder you can have 3 different skins folders

- summer
- desert
- winter

summer folder skin will show when in east front or european maps
desert skin folder shows on pacific maps
winter skin folder shows on winter maps

create files in your skin mod accordingly

Thanks guy for the info. Putting multiple national slots for generic skins might be a nice Mod at some point, particularly in light of the forgoten nations Mod. Presumably this could be done as you say above the 109 has several national slots and some of the Moded aircraft come with the same.

Thanks again

summer, same as ETO.

But there is another possibility. There is a way to edit the maps and make them desert, summer or winter. I don't know where to edit this, I just know it is possible.

So in your case, you might want to change the maps labeled summer to desert ... just a thought
