Autopilot Problem
#1

For some reason the autopilot, as in the autopilot that flies you straight and level for bombing runs, doesn't work. I have installed the 4.08m patch and the mod activator with english career fix.

Does the Autopilot engauge when you press the " A" key or do you mean
LEVEL FLIGHT for bombing. For the LEVEL FLIGHT you need to assign a key for that in
controls.

I have assigned a key for level autopilot, but it doesn't work. That's what I need help with. How am I supposed to bomb without level flight?

It's not really about the auto pilot, but it's about the level stabiliser, just assign a key to it, that way you should be able to fly straight level and you could use the bomb sight, until your bombs get dropped.

At least it worked for me in this case,

But one more fun thing to do would be to stick around in the bomb sight until the bombs hit on impact and watching them destroy the target, even though you might have more chance of being shot down by the AA guns or enemy fighters.

the thing will not work if you have pressed autopilot....you need to be flying manually first

Well, that's just it. I assigned a key to the "level autopilot". It doesn't work. The regular "fly an entire mission for you" autopilot works.

Level Autopilot is FOR DIVEBOMBERS ONLY!!!!! You need to assign a key to LEVEL STABILIZER. Do not use autopilot and try to bomb, it won't work. You must fly the plane manually, switch on LEVEL STABILIZER, then go to bomardier gunsight, then you can use your bombsight to bomb. Forget about level autopilot unless you are flying an SBD, D3A, or JU87.

Oh yeah, the level autopilot pulls the divebomber out of it's dive when it drops it's bomb. That's all it does. If you read the E-Manual that comes with the game it will tell you all about it.

Whoops, my bad. Problem solved. Now what do I do about gunner positions not working while I'm in them?

Actually, that is what Level Autopilot is for. When it's OFF, you have to manually switch off the autopilot when you switch gunner position. When it's ON, it will automatically switch off your new position while switching your previous gunner position back ON, so it is active and will fire.
