Running 1.1 and displays 4.09b1m but the worst thing is....

The XP task bar stays while the game is booting up and then the game locks up, if I try to ctrl alt del, I loose control of the mouse, and the screen resolution goes on the desktop to 1280x1024 from 1024 x 768. Anyone have a fix for this? just reinstalled up to 1.1, and would rather go back to PF+FB+AEP than put up with this BS again. Have 82915G/GV/910 GL express chipset. Thanks Guys.

Your best choice is to wait from the moment you double click on the icon until the game has loaded, and I literally mean 'wait', don't do anything at all. It never freezes my mouse that way. Works for UI 1.2 too, but UI 1.2 takes a lot more time to load

Thanks but tried that, no joy, and 1.2 refuses to work, so anly took it to 1.1. I was lucky to get where I was after 6 re installs.

i'm familiar with this problem - wait for the game to completely load so you have the ingame menu onscreen. Then click on the il-2 icon on the task bar [which will then vanish] you are then left with il-2 on your screen but no moving mouse pointer . Ctrl-Alt-Delete , let the il-2 window minimise and the windows task manager pop up. Close the task manager, click on the il-2 icon in the task bar and your sorted.

No idea where the problem stems from , I suffered it a while back then it stopped after the last reformat. Its almost as though windows gets confused over what window has priority on the screen.

Hope this helps

I have the same problem with both. What I do is let
the game load completely, then right click the mouse
when the task bar disappears, then I hit the window
key, once the game goes to desktop, I then click on
the IL-2 in the task bar and the game gose to full
screen, after that every thing works ok.

Yip, I do the same here, although occasionally I find I have to go back and forward between IL2 and desktop again if it doesn't do it the first time.

When these guys say WAIT wait. I have the same problem at times.
Becasue I hit a key or try the mouse.
DONT touch any thing while it's loading. I also use the window key to fix it.
