Check where IL2 was installed. If the unistall is hi-lited use that to REMOVE all of your old
Install. Besure to move any or all mods -skins- or any thing else you want saved.
After the disk UNINSATALLS the game you should be able to reinstall it.
Wow!Thanx for souch quick reply. Will try that and return with the result
Well ,that did not work. When i run uninstall from dvd its giving me weird "error 1606 could not access network location".Except UI 1.1 AND 1.2 that where never installed into game there is nothing related to il 2 left in the system, allso drives are defragmented and checked for errors .Well, im offitialy out of ideas :? :-? :???:
go to my computer and open the drive the DVD is in to look at the files.
Double click the a.exe
it should launch with out the main GUI
Easy
Have you gone into your program files and looked to see if there is a Ubisoft folder?IL2-1946 installs into this folder ,go into it and make sure the 1946 folder is gone, if it isn't remove it ,then try to reinstall.
the a.exe will work with or without a Ubisoft /IL-2 folder
even without the folder it will pretend to unistall what is not there
then it will install
Error 1606 is a common Windows error. Error 1606 is usually caused by missing system files, wrong system settings or a corrupted registry file. Run a registry scan to check for registry errors & other system problems. 90% of the time this will fix the cause of the error.Typed Error 1606 into Google this is what I found and there does seem to be a fix for it.
