I just checked in the originally uploaded rar file on Mediafire and I see that the file you mention above is included in the download package. Are you certain of the name?

cgagan Wrote:Good morning. I installed your skwood.tga files as instructed (Mapmods/MAPS/_Tex/forest/summer and I still get the same error message. I ran a 4.09m version of the game, all your other maps work fine. I noticed that in my Tex/forest/summer folder there are also dlv-skwood0-4 files besides the new ones that I added.

Hmmmm ... the ironic thing is there are not even any forest textures in use on the map at all. But, if you leave the [WOOD] lines blank or crossed out, then the map certainly won't load, as opposed for instance to lowland/midland etc ... textures. So you have to have something in the [WOOD ]lines. Therefore I choose what should be a stock standard texture.

You might, for example try editing your load.ini. Take this part:

[WOOD]
Wood0 = forest/summer/skwood0.tga
Wood1 = forest/summer/skwood1.tga
Wood2 = forest/summer/skwood2.tga
Wood3 = forest/summer/skwood3.tga
Wood4 = forest/summer/skwood4.tga

and change it into

[WOOD]
Wood0 = forest/summer/dlv_skwood0.tga
Wood1 = forest/summer/dlv_skwood1.tga
Wood2 = forest/summer/dlv_skwood2.tga
Wood3 = forest/summer/dlv_skwood3.tga
Wood4 = forest/summer/dlv_skwood4.tga

or for that matter change it into ANY set of forest textures which are in your ..._Tex/forest/summer folder ...

Also remember that when you change the load.ini on a map that has been loaded (or tried to be loaded) into the FMB, and it fails, you must first load another map before you reload the appended load.ini. Don't know why that is so, but just don't try to reload twice the same faulty map in a row.

And when you load a map and it won't work, and you add new or missing textures while the game is still running, it won't work either. When adding new textures to a running game, you need to reboot the game first. That's another one of the endearing quirks of Il-2 ...

IT WORKED! Big Grin 8) Big Grin 8) The addition of dlv_ in front of skwood in your map's load.ini was the solution to the problem as you suggested!
May I take this opportunity to thank you again not only for your talent but also for your willingness to always assist us mortals. This to me represents an exemplary attitude for all the modding community (and, fortunately, it has many followers...)
Thanks again,

Thanks again,

Sometimes Il-2 acts like a Marx Brothers comedy. With all this modding, you have to come up with an out-of-the-box solution for things to work ... programs are supposed to be the ultimate in logic, but that's not always been my experience ... ha ha.

That's what the error message told me in FMB, after hitting SHIFT+TAB. I'm sure it'll get sorted after some tweaking...maybe I'll try editing the load .ini.

I haven't downloaded this map so can't check it but maybe this forest error occurs because there is a mistake in your load.ini with the stock Slovakia trees?
Instead of Wood0 = forest/summer/skwood 0.tga shouldn't it be Wood0 = forest/summer/sk_Wood0 .tga

That could indeed possibly be another solution. I've always found the forest textures to be a bit of a mess and not always straightforward. Also somewhat neglected as a texture sort.

I must at some point have downloaded and renamed a set of forest textures into an skwood0.tga set without underscores ... don't know why or when.

So this should also work:

[WOOD]
Wood0 = forest/summer/sk_wood0.tga
Wood1 = forest/summer/sk_wood1.tga
Wood2 = forest/summer/sk_wood2.tga
Wood3 = forest/summer/sk_wood3.tga
Wood4 = forest/summer/sk_wood4.tga

My apologies ...

Hello Agracier, lovely map but I also had problems loading, the Load.ini is the problem.

Here is how it appears in your download.

[WOOD]
Wood0 = forest/summer/skwood0.tga
Wood1 = forest/summer/skwood1.tga
Wood2 = forest/summer/skwood2.tga
Wood3 = forest/summer/skwood3.tga
Wood4 = forest/summer/skwood4.tga

I changed mine to this and all was well.

[WOOD]
Wood0 = forest/summer/sk_Wood0.tga
Wood1 = forest/summer/sk_Wood1.tga
Wood2 = forest/summer/sk_Wood2.tga
Wood3 = forest/summer/sk_Wood3.tga
Wood4 = forest/summer/sk_Wood4.tga

An in game shot shows it saves with no problems'

Yes, I made a mistake in using modified/renamed forest textures in the load.ini. The irony is that the map doesn't even use forest textures anywhere at all to begin with, but using an empty [WOOD] slot revents it from loading properly.

I have made a new load.ini and replaced the old download link with the new corrected load.ini.

Thanks to all for helping on this, my 1000th post by the way.

A shame it was used to apologize for a mistake, but that is irony for you I guess ... ha ha

I am missing the following static objects

Quote:buildings.House$TypeC_1934_Shed_Camo
buildings.House$T2

Does anyone have a suggestion were I can get them? Google and a AAA search didn't produce anything.

Try Cannon's Channel Objects, a pack that comes with his superb Channel Map.
You can download an abbreviated version here, with only the RAF and Luftwaffe Hangars, of which the above objects are part.
