Hi Folks I am running all the IL2 default settings and I'm getting frequent stuttering and some game crashes. Windows reports the following highly informative information- "A problem caused your program to stop working..." " Do you want to try different settings..." I tried various settings that windows presented and that either didn't help or made things worse like make my mouse, joystick and trackIR quit working. I have run the game in OPenGL and DirectX and same issues occur. My CPU usage is about 17% with game running and it uses 35% RAM. All CPU/GPU temps are well in the green 47 deg C. Memtest and Intelburn test say everything is OK. SO I am thinking I should look at settings.

If some of you experienced gurus has a similar machine I would appreciate some help with any video, CPU, game and game conf.ini settings you can recommend. My machine spec is:

Win7x64
6 GB Corsair 1600 Triple channel DDR3
EVGA Nvidia GTX 295 co-op
Asus P6T Dlx V2
Antec TP Quattro 1000W PSU
SB Fatality X-Fi Championship
Samsung 2x1Tb RE in Raid0

haha, You have too much computer I fear. Im running win 7 64 and il2 on an FX-57 (if you remember what that is) and it runs fine. Make sure you are running it in win XP compatibility mode in administrator mode. I've tested it in both DirectX and OpenGL and while it runs in DirectX, the best visuals come in OpenGL as it was written specifically for it.

How is life in the fast lane? You enjoying multi-threaded awesomeness? I think I'm gonna wait until Oleg's next masterpiece is released before I make the plunge. I would hate to buy an i5 now only to discover I should have gotten an i9. Heck I get 60 fps with my FX-57 and GT-260.

Hi Mud I did the nHancer thing and made a few changes. Windows did change my desktop, blew away my conf.ini file and some of my desktop icons disappeared but after getting my joystick settings reloaded it seems to run better. Here's a thought... by the time the i9 comes out the i7 stuff ought to be stable. Mught as well get it over with now. Besides then you can help me troubleshoot in real-time :veryhappy:
I have spent a month debugging hardware and software to get to this point. No more BSOD thank goodness. All in all the machine is sweet- had to sell off my dirt bike to get it :rofl: oh the pain.

My goal is to FINALLY play on HL. After reading millions of posts some genius gave me the solution to finally get HL loaded on a Win7 machine but it is rejecting my connection because I don't have the right Il2 version. I guess I'll have to start hunting that one down. I am running 4.09b1m with 6dof on. Could it be the 6dof?
