So, I had an idea... What if somebody were to make a RP-63A, RP-63C, or RP-63G "Pinball" and make trainer bombers or convert existing trainers to use Cartridge, Caliber .30, Frangible, Ball, M22 ammo for gunnery training opps.

Hmm........

It isn't a bad idea, using gunner postions has always been one of the things I have been really rubbish at in Il2, so a training system would be handy.

The concept for this mod would be simple enough, just a new slot P63 with a RP63 skin and the loadout set to empty, and a new slot bomber with a weapon based on the US 30.cal but with damage set to 0 (or a very low figure if 0 is not possible), and with a very visible flash on impact.

Or you could adjust the damage model on the P-63 to go in tune with the ton, literally, of armor that was used on the RP-63's. Or both... Oh, and don't forget about the red lights...

+1, i like the idea a lot!!

But the armor has to be in the RP-63, not just a P-63, it has to be a bit authentic Tongue

I know, but the statement was to take the P-63 and make it into an RP-63 by adding the armor and lights and removing the weapons systems.

I like the idea Deac, would be a lot of fun for squadrons to do on-line gunnery training. One guy flying the RP-63 and the rest of the squad in trail to take their turn at the pinball. Hehe, gunnery training officer could be called the Pinball Wizard, :wink:
