Seaplanes on troley
#1

Hi all,

I'm thinking that it would be nice to have as stationnary planes seaplanes and floatplanes on troley in order to put them away from water on seaplane bases.
Currently, if you put a seaplane on ground, you'll get half of the hul or the float under the ground which isn't really good looking.
I'm not confident with 3D models but I'm quite sure it could be easily done and that would be nice.

Thanks for reading.

Commonly refered to as beaching gear in the case of the PBY.

The Catalina also had retractable gears. So This could be a Mod for the Catalina?

I like this suggestion for IL2 mods, may I add a similar one? How about battleship launchable floatplanes, it could probly be done in IL2 using the
carrier catapult mod's launch coding by fireball, and someone very smart like Zuti to make a spawn place on a battleship.
Then maybe an excellent 3d modder to make the actual track that the floatplane will be launched off of, and possibly a recovery crane.

And I bet the AR or Zero floatplanes would work fine until someone made a kingfisher for the USN side.

PS. sorry for getting off topic, but just the mention of floatplanes on trolleys made my mind think of all the other cool things floatplanes did in WW2 that no one seemed to mention often on AAA.

I guess it's not completely off topic actually.
I've thaugh also about that but we miss a good floatplane-tender ship.
That would be very cool !!!

Maybe just a little further off topic....while you're at it figuring out how to put that beaching gear onto the float planes, maybe you could see what is required to make static carrier planes with folded wings? Smile I really like the idea of the beaching gear though. That would be very cool to see!
