How to change the HSFX Cloud Mod?
#1

There is a lot of great stuff in the HSFX 4.0/4.1 and the install was easypeasy but... I don't like the standard HSFX cloud mod, it looks like cotton balls and it is just white and ash grey in my humble opinion. So I want my old cloud mod by Flushy back! Cry
(The link is inoperative)

I know how to add mods that are not present in the HSFX package. There are two easy ways to do it but I don't want to touch the HSFX folders so I created a MODS folder in my root install and dropped all the "good old" mods in there and they all work now like missing maps (Benghali/Archangelsk for instance), my own splash screen, QMBV2, etc...but I do have some problems with Flushy's cloud mod. I get it working and have nice clouds now but the FPS drops dramatically. :???:
It's almost a slide show.
I tried all kind of options by disabling and enabling the Effects Low, Effects High, Stock Clouds options in the Generic Mod Enabler but nothing seems to work and dropping Flushy's mod in JSGME Mod folder and enabling it doesn't work neither.

Did I overlook something and does anybody have a solution to get Flushy's cloud mod to work in a proper way???

Modding HSFX is no different than in 1.2

Make a mods folder and drop your mods in as always. Always make sure that id you add planes you make a "STD" folder with the files you need

Monguse, I know how to add mods and explained how to do this in my first post but for whatever reason I can't get Flushy's cloud mod to work without a considerable FPS drop. I want to know what causes this.
Sorry to say but I really don't like the HSFX cloud mod.

I don't know if it is included in HSFX, but this mod increased the FPS for me:

This version is Flushy's MOD with stock parameters. You will get the clouds you want with very much improved FPS. Try it:

You have to install it with JGSME (there is a Files folder inside, structure only compatible with JGSME).

You have to put them in JGSME-MODS folder (Ultrapack) and later activate them through JGSME.exe. Have you used this program?

It's working here.

PD: Disable whichever other cloudmod.

i don't use Ultrapack but HSFX with JSGME so that might explain it
