Hey all.

Im a long time reader of the forums and first time installer of the new HSFX mod and i must say that from what i have read and seen what has been done for IL-2 1946 has been absolutely awesome of what has been done for this game beit NEW aircraft or effects etc.

Anyway Im soon to install the 4.09 patch for IL2 1946 and the two HSFX updates and im just wondering is there any step-by-step instructions i should follow as i can get it working without any problems and is it necessary to create another IL-2 folder to accomdate the HSFX mods or can i just use the original directory i have on my computer.

Any advice would be very handy and thank you

To be on the safe side install HSFX 4.0 + 4.1 on 409m (not modded).

You can however install over 409b with mods provided you move your files and mods folder out of the way.

...and to be on the extremely safe side make a second copy of your Il-2 install and put HSFX onto that. You won't have any problems installing HSFX itself though; the readme is replicated in the self-extracting installer, with full instructions on what to do. Easy peasy!

I also reccomend that once you get a working patched 4.09m.. that you copy that... and then mod that copy. That way you will always have a fully patched version of 4.09 and youwont have to reinstall & repatch....

I second what Bearcat said. Make a backup of your 409 folder before you do anything.

Thank you all for your help, I know have HSFX up and running well apart from that some of the Campaigns are in Russian Language. Is there anyway to fix this?
