No in-cockpit engine sounds when flying P-38
#1

Recently, after re-installing several mods,I've discovered that the engine sounds inside the P-38 (all models) have disappeared.Sounds in exterior views are fine.
The only thing new I've done recently is install UI 1.2 buttons file into my UI 1.1 .
Is that possibly the cause?
Any suggestions would be welcome.
Thanks.

I don't know what all was changed with 1.2, but yes, buttons is very likely the cause.
Easy to test...just pop your 1.1 buttons back in and see.

For long term fix, you should read the SAS sound and preset tutorial to get your sounds back the way you want them.

Thanks, that did it.I installed the buttons only to run F86G Thunderjet.
I guess I'll do without.

Well, if you want to delve into presets and sound samples, you can probably get it to work.
I think the P-38 is Allison engine? So, it's a matter of finding another plane with Allison sound that works, and copy and rename the preset so that the P-38 engine uses it. In your case, it may be a missing sample (.wav file) that is missing or in wrong location.

If you download the Modact from SAS, there is a sound matrix (Excel) included, and a little tutorial on how to get sounds back. They also have a sound patch for this sort of thing.
