UI 1.1 installed 4.09b1m under Wine 1.1.31 on Linux Ubuntu 64 bit OS. Everything runs OK: multiplayer, joystick full functions, landscape perfect setting, track recording etc. Voice comms (radio) doesn't work but I use Linux TeamSpeak server and Wine TS2 client anyway. Action videos are captured on GLC and edited with Kdenlive. For those who want to move up to Linux try dual booting for a month or two; it gets quite technical at times - but well worth it.
All my other PC functions - email, internet browser, word processor, spreadsheet, calendar, photo manipulation, illustration, project manager, 3D modeller, website editor - are fast, functional, virus-free, up-to-date and free.
EDIT: TeamSpeak client runs under Wine.
Good news ! how do you avoid Microsoft netframework as it is necesseray for UI-1.1 to work ?

What 3D modeller do you use, please?
Can it be used for airplane 3D modelling, like 3D max, please?
Laziness is the mother of progress. My QMB missions can be found here:

Thx ! nice to play again on my Ubuntu !
I'll have to give it a try. I have been using Ubuntu for some years now but I never got IL-2 to work. I'll try tomorrow.
