Tainan team , new plane , new buttons and other users

Dear Tainan team!

I really love your works and your detail level , if someone of you remember , in the past I have really supported you for prevent third part distribution of your mods because you have asked to keep the distribution exclusive , I have sometimes writed at the other site administrator for remember them about your whishes....but now with your new kind of mod I'm a little disappointed due the conseguence that it can made!

I try to explain:

Keep the distribution in your hand , to monitorize the people downloading it , is a fix point and I don't came into this but otherwise , realize a dedicated buttons to run the mod I fell it a prison for the freedom of the choice of what kind of mod I like to run into my game root!

I (like the most part of us) mainly fly offline and I have setted my mods collection to keep this off line attitude at the highest level I can manage and actually I run IL2 by SAS buttons that is the most exaustive at all!! I have other installation for run the other packs available in the net (HSFX - ULTRAPACK - C6) each one with it's peculiar root and mods set and balance!

So I think that you can't keep your mods standing alone into the community because before or after your works 'll be added at some other buttons or new plane 'll made your buttons old and in the need of an update!

I think that if you'll ask to keep your mods distribution at your own link all of us 'll download it there but if you'll keep the buttons too linked to the mods only it'll be an utopy!

Please think about the possible future and let update the other buttons freely! All of us and you between us too can only gain more satisfaction from this!!!

Please think about it!!!

Exactly.

I love your work, been following all the betas and this latest pack looks simply awesome.

But i want to fly your planes together with other newly released planes, like Wellington or Hurricane Mk. IV.

I know i can switch MODS folders around (disabling the "primary" one and enabling the "Tainan" one) but that is not a satisfactory solution. Because i still won't be able to have all new planes available at once.

Also, having a custom Tainan-only buttons file will cause incompatibility issues online, between people who fly "vanilla" HSFX 4.1 and those who opted to install your mod package.

So, while i respect your decision, i urge you to reconsider.

I'd like very much Tainan works, their accuracy and precision...but I agree with you walter_solito.

Sure no one can discuss about every modder's choice to exclusively distribute his/their works (and protect them also), but feel something ironic to chain those works in a way that limits the whole community when the same one have singed high praises so along for 1-unification!

IMHO that way sounds "a bit" anachronistic.

Seriously, I think what they said could be interpreted to mean simply that they do not want it repacked into another mod package, not that compatible buttons cannot be released. Give them a chance to clarify. It's Christmas Eve and Santa could still take you presents away if you are naughty. Tongue

A question:
Since it is this site's specific policy and some Admin's religious zeal to deleate ANY link to a stock plane that has been altered, then WHY is this link allowed to continue and even praised when Tainan state specifically that they have ALTERED two stock plane's FM's, i.e. the B5N2 and B6N2.

Or is this just favoritism toward certain groups and not others ???

Because they are both AI planes made flyable. Might want to pull your neck in there a bit.

These two planes were already made flyable in HSFX 4.1 and AAA has never made the exception in the past about allowing people to modify stock FM's, so why are they allowing it now ???

Well I really wish Tainan will reconsider. If I have to have ANOTHER separate install just for this mod ... then screw it. I will not fly this mod or these planes unless it is compatible with other mods. I want one install with all the mods I want to download. It is retarded to have 5 different installs.

Seriously, everyone is screaming about "Unification This" and "Unification That." What is happening is the exact opposite. Everyone knows we need ONE buttons file that covers all mods for compatibility ... why then is the Tainan team forcing a separate buttons that is outdated or even a step backwards as far as mod compatibility is concerned ???

I WAS really excited to try this mod out ... however, seeing the petty politics that are going on ... to me it is not even worth the hassle. I am actually rather put out with how this is going down ... Maybe I am alone in my opinion maybe I am not ...

Way to discriminate Tainan group

I understand it is their mod and they can do what they please ... but seriously. I am not going down that road.

maybe some of you guys did not follow a post a long time ago.

In order for all of us to make sure we did not break any existing offline campaings, all AI aircraft FM were migrated from HSFX into all packs. The B5N2 and B6N2 fall into this category.

As for the Tainan Group deciding how their work is to be used and in what packs, they have every right to do so as others have specified who can can include what into a pack.
