This is prolly a dumb question, but is HSFX compatible with the Ultra-pack that is out there as well?

Actually, this is a good question.

HSFX 4.1 comes with the Zuti 1.01-commonly called Zuti 1.0, though the one in HSFX 4.1 is actually the Zuti 1.01 with Moving Dogfight Server.

I am not sure about the UltraPack 2.0... However, someone posted that it is not compatible with HSFX 4.1 and I have not read that anyone has made it compatible. The HSFX switch is supposed to make guys compatible between 4.1 and UltraPack 2.0? I have yet to get a definate answer on this one.

If anyone reading this knows of a change to this, please post about it.

UP has Zuti 1.1 HSFX has Zuti 1.01 and they will NOT play.
If Zuti is turned off they are fine.

Hello,

What is the difference between Unified Installer (UI) and HSFX?

What does HSFX bring that UI doesn't?

I've been away from AAA.com since 5 months at least so I kind of missed a few things :-)

Oh by the way: I found a nice steeing for those playing Il-2 1946 without joystick nor Track IR (just keyboard and mouse).

You need to have a 3 buttons mouse (one with a wheel)...

-Map your Engine Power to the Mouse Wheel so that you can control power with the mouse wheel (it works with me. I didn't think the mouse wheel would be recongized in Il-2 1946!)

-Map First Weapon (fire) to Left click and Secondary Weapon to the Right Click

- Keep the plane 's controls to the keyboard keys (standard)

Enjoy! It really gives a great immersion even if joystick is much better...

QUESTION: do you know if it will be possible in the future to map the rudder movement to the Mouse Wheel? You know : on the Microsoft 3 button mouse you can move the Mouse Wheel to the right or to the left...It helps in Acrobat Reader..I thought we could use this to simulate the Rudder Left and Rudder Right movements...

...

UI 1.2
This is still the Big One at AAA, with almost 20 GB total ( in the unpacked state ). The majority of the best and most popular mods of AAA, and some contributors from other IL-2 communities make up this build. It includes the beta 4.09. Also, it is the download with the huge number of maps from AAA, which almost fills three whole columns in the Full Mission Builder list of maps in "Load". Offline use with UI 1.2 is the shift in emphasis since other major releases after it. For the guy wanting to get a basic collecion for offline use, this might be the best place to start. The formula to get the UI is here: Stock 4.08m clean + UI 1.1 + UI 1.2

HSFX 4.1
It totals about 12 GB. Included is much (though not all) of the UI 1.2 and UI 1.2.5 without a bunch of maps, and some new stuff. The HSFX 4.1 is built especially for online flying, though it was constucted to make it easier to add mods for both online and offline flying. If a guy knows how to do it, he should be able to have mods installed and be able to easily turn off the ones that he should to be compatible with other online flyers.

I have heard and read first hand from some of the leaders of this project that this is what they intended:

#1) Unify more IL-2 people from different communities
#2) Provide a compatible option for online flying which includes official 4.09m
#3) Make it easier for users to incorporate mods of different communities into IL-2

The formula for HSFX 4.1 is: 4.08 ( plus the 4.08 patch for those who have the digital download version of 4.08 ) + official 4.09m patch + HSFX 4.0 + HSFX 4.1

Hopefully, a lot of people read this and it clarifies things for them.

(P.S.) I am now using UI 1.2 for offline use and HSFX 4.1 for online flying.

I have HSFX-V4.1 and I have 3 1/2 lines of maps in my game.
Disk space used is 9.23 GB and I have not added any more mods than what came
with it.
Load times are great about 45 sec. The JSGME is very easy to use to load and unload the
mods you wish to use.

UP 2.0 has Zuti 1.1 and Zuti 1.01 which both can be enabled or disable on your own accord, they ARE compatible.

EDIT: I might also add that UP 2.0 contains HSFX 4.1 switcher which means its kinda hard for UP 2.0 to be incompatible.

The Point being if UP has Zuti 1.1 active HSFX users CAN NOT enter the game.
So they Dont play.
Now if the Server op Uses Zuti 1.01 all can join,But from what I see most use Zuti 1.1 which
locks HSFX people OUT. I have tried to enter those and cant.
