On new year's day, 1945, something happened that made people remember even 65 years later.
Many lives were lost, unfortunately; and at the same time a US fighter unit saw chance to create a legend.

They called it the "Legend of Y-29".

No doubt, a memorable day.
For the brave pilots of the USAF, a great success which became a legend.
For the Luftwaffe a day of grief and a sign that Germany was loosing more and more of its power.

Thank god this war came to an end, even it was to late for millions of people. May the atrocities, the victims and the heroes never be forgotten!
