[REQUEST] Unified BUTTONS file by AAA
#1

as you can see this link
http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,97.0.html

the staff of the SAS make a new file BUTTONS at least once a month.

why the staff of AAA, would not make same?

then for each new aircraft, we could have another option.
and at the moment, to get all the aircraft available, we need use the SAS BUTTONS

it would be possible?

examples of new aircraft that need an update the BUTTONS

I want to say that there's nothing wrong with the SAS buttons... Only that would be cool if the AAA could make new AAA buttons...that's all

Big Grin

Very cool...

And I can see the advantage if AAA would make "own" buttons... More possibilities IMHO.

pablo, +1000 from me!

Cheers

Thank you King, I think this would be the only solution for to have only one flight model for the IL-2

for a single flight model now

AAA now puts their content into HSFX and the SAS buttons are 100% compatible with HSFX. Why the need for extra buttons? Most people are confused enough as it is!

are compatible, but contains different flight models compared to HSFX 4.1 or UP 2.0
very different
and to end it, the only way I see.
AAA is creating a genuine flight model, compatible with HSFX and UP.

imagine if you enter a server.
and three planes are equal, but one is with the flight model HSFX, another with the UP and another with the SAS.
three different flight model, this is ridiculous.

do you fly online much? do you know how hard it is to get all the pilots to have the same stuff, including the server?

which brings me to my next point, it's server admins and mission makers that determine what you fly.
It's easy for them, they just make missions with the lowest common denominator and leave those planes out so they don't run into these compatibility issues.

i'm quite happy with a quaterly release schedule(or whatever it is). It gives all the players time to get the current bits and use them for a while, make missions with them, etc..and also allows the mods more time to test and get stuff right.

i like to comapre it to fast food vs a nice resturant. Sure, i could release the NGNB map right now. Its all built and works and has buildings and runways that work correctly both online and off. I can only speak for myself here, but i'm gonna cook my food a little longer, add some presentation to it before it gets served to anyone.

this just this guys opinion.

I think creating more buttons files choices is rather pointless. At the moment most players are using either the buttons files that come with the Ultrapack or HSFX mod packs, or the SAS Online or Offline buttons. Since the SAS buttons have all the AAA and HSFX FMs (and for that matter, FMs for all the UP aircraft), there is no need to create what would effectively be an AAA branded version of the SAS Online buttons.

As far as ensuring all players were using the same FMs, this would have no effect. All you would have is that instead of 4 different buttons files being used, you would now have 5.

At the current time the most suitable buttons to use is the SAS one, it works with HSFX and UP and it is the most unedited buttons file for the original il2 fms. UP and HSFX have edited FM's on some of the original planes whereas the SAS one does not. So in all "AAA" standards you should be using that since at AAA you don't modify original FM's.

We are supposed to be moving forward to a common mods installer.
Introducing another version of buttons would be a backwards step.

AAA should seek to agree with SAS to support and promote the SAS buttons -- unless there are good tech reasons not to.

This would be another positive step in mod unification.

hmm from what i know its the sas buttons that have the stock plaines modified fms. and not UP HSFX.
This i have from SAS Cirrx that pointed out to me that SAS Buttons are for offline use only as SAS is a offline community and dont care about the online flying at all.
He even claimed that SAS does not make buttons for online use.

Go there and read for yourselves..

hint is the reddish to rich fuelmix on plaines using the moddified fms but also coused by the tempest/typhoon open conopy mod.

I'm sorry but you are WRONG, that is a misconception by most people. Firstly the only FM's that got edited were replacing a 0 with a 1 so that canopys could open. That does NOT effect the way it flies unlike UP and HSFX. Also to fix the TBM's etc they made NEW FM's not replacing the old ones so you would also have to download a seperate mod to change the FM's that the TBM's or F's use. HSFX and UP have edited some of the FM's and also as of 2010 SAS have done 2 buttons files one for online and one for offline. The online one has 0's on the canopy part of the FM's so you can't open canopys anymore but restores online compatability. Offline one has 1's so the canopy opens but will cause smoke trails etc when playing online. This applies to about 10 FM's only the rest were never changed to have openable canopys.

Every one is a bit too impatient as always. I would of thought Monguse has seen these mods. And will no doubt add them in the next UI or HSFX or what ever.
