=BLW=PabloSniper Was doing EVERYBODY... YES EVERYBODY here a favor by attempting to combine PUBLICALLY AVAILABLE MODS.. into an easy to use package..


-He did not try to benefit commercially... he provided everything he did for free..

-He did not take credit for anybody's work... In fact he gave due credit..

-Under US copyright laws (And internationals laws I am sure).. what he did is called 'fair and free use' and does NOT need to ask anybody's permission... and this would apply if the material WAS copyrighted... which it isn't.. (This would all be different if was commercially used in any way... which it was not)


I find it VERY IRONIC... maybe even HYPOCRITICAL.. that on a website like this... which arguably began as a portal for illegal hacks to the IL2 series of games.. the very people who hacked IL2 now complain that somehow they were wronged by fair use of what they made available to the public..

Some of these immature egos need to get over it..

I have made many skins and several templates for this game.. and posted them for use... I am NOT surprised when people use them..... and I don't need every user to play 'Hail to the Chief' every time they use the work I made available for everybody.. In a non commercial use..CREDIT or acknowledgment of the original creator is a common courtesy... not some cosmic, all encompassing requirement..

IF YOU DON'T WANT EVERYBODY TO USE YOUR WORK... DON'T POST IT!!!!!!!!

Right.. lets put this to bed. There are certain rules on this site that we are duty bound to enforce, simple!
No-one should come on here shouting the odds, lawyers or no lawers, everyone knows the score, and Pablo in particular knows them more than most, he's not a newbie either so there was no excuse.
If people are in any doubt whatsoever about anything all they have to do is pm us and ask..

OK, let me get this straight: asking authors permisson to put their mods into packs was an established method which started from the very first days of modding. This was because online compatibility was of the utmost importance, and obviously people did not want mods to be put into packs and maybe changed so that people could cheat online. We have in common more than you think, LOL

My sister in law and her hubbie are both lawyers, and my Wife is working with them as Chief Administrator -(altought not a lawyer herself, she do actually know lot about the matter).

And my family (from both sides) was deeply involved with Aviation from the very early years.
