F6F-3 Oil Pressure warning
#1

When trying to takeoff as soon as i start the engine, oil warning comes on and a few seconds later the engine quits and will not start. I am running V 4.09m. UP2.0.

Check your JSGME and see if you have Advanced Engine Management turned on. If you do, you just found your problem.

I do have advanced engine management on. Is there a way to takeoff with this on or must it be disabled. Land based planes are fine?

had this problem...only way to fly it is to open throttle and go as soon as possible after start to build up oil pressure. dont let it sit there at idle...it will die. not sure why it happens. don't think it is realistic and happens only with the F6F that i have seen. a bug in the AEM mod with the Hellcat?

I saw something similar to this (don't remember where it was though).....something about the plane thinking that it's upside down when the chocks are engaged so you lose oil pressure. Disengage the chocks and the plane will think it's right side up and it should be ok. Yea, I know it sounds like I'm yanking your chain, but try it.

R-2800 powerplant is a dry sump system and should not lose oil pressure when inverted.
