For All Users: Getting your game Running with HSFX 4.1
#1

Well, this has been requested a lot, so here is the simple guide to getting your game running with HSFX 4.1 Wink (thanks to skyomish for this Wink )

Patch the game to 4.09m using the official patches

4.08m patch http://patches.ubi.com/il2_1946/il2_1946_408m.exe

4.09m patch http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=10276

Then apply the HSFX-V4.0 and HSFX 4.1 mod pack ---
V4.0
http://www.242sqn.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1780
V4.1
http://www.242sqn.com/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... highlight=
Fixer:
http://www.242sqn.com/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... 36&start=0

End result is IL2 v4.9m HSFX4.1 --- Fully modded with new aircraft and maps and server compliant.

Clean install 4.07 disk----4.08m patch----4.09m patch---HSFX-V 4.0-------HSFX-V 4.1

Et voila! You can now run with 4.1 Big Grin

EDIT-I'm leaving this unstickied for the time being. Since the creation of the General Discussion Section This section is quite empty, and there's so many stickied topics I fear this'l get unnoticed. If need be, I can copy/paste this to most sections and sticky it in them and then lock it. This can be the main topic.

Also....for users running the digital download of 4.08 see here (The link is inoperative)

Cheers Wink

Wish i would have had this...

Quick question about HSFX,
Once i have HSFX 4.1 is there anyway to join UP 2.0 Zuti1.1 servers by enabling/disabling things in JSGME?
If so, How?

Sorry if it's a bit off topic, but you know.

As far as I'm aware no. Unless you convert your HSFX install into UP 2.0.

No that Zuti is different than the one HSFX has.
It has been stated that a new Zuti standalone is in the works so all can join.
We can only hope this is true.

Thanks for the info Philip and Skyomish.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I am just getting around to installing this on my system. When I launch the HSFX 4.0 install, it wants to install to "Forgotten Battles", but I am using IL2 1946.

When I redirect ot the IL2 1946 folder , it says it is already created etc, so I stopped the install until I can get this clarified. Can you please tell me which folder should I direct this too?

Thanks for your time and assistance.

Forgotten battles is in 1946 so that's fine. It says the folder is created just to tell you basically that it exists. Don't worry, you are fine to continue with the installaton as long as your il-1946 has been patched up to 4.09 (see my initial post) Big Grin

I must have done something wrong. I just let it install to its default folders and now I have this, see image. I get the idea that the top folder should have been in the bottom one. Can you confirm this please?

You must not have clicked on the Il-2 folder properly. It's happened to me before Wink

Well, I tried two more times and finally got it  So simple, but I think I was looking too deep, when i should have followed my instincts. Still, you get that :? Thanks for the support Philip, greatly appreciated here. One last question though. My older rig had a NV 256mb 7800gt video card and if I set water to 3 or 4 and in game to thunder storms, I had white caps waves etc. Now I have a NV GT220 1gb card and all the water is flat and plain using same settings. Is there something in HSFX that controls this aspect?

Cheers for now,
Jeff

make sure you have "HardwareShaders=1" under openGL section in your conf.ini

you may want to re-set all conf.ini settings to your desired ones .

Thanks "Z", not wanting to look a plonker, I also posted this in the IL2 Tech section. I am not sure what are good changes in this as HSFX seems to make some changes too, well that is what it looks like to me anyhow. I know everyone's system is different, and what works for one may not suit another, but if you have any other areas of suggestion in the OPEN GL Conf.ini then I am all ears.

I just did the same bloody thing. Reinstalled it to the correct folder the second time. Did you later just delete the "ubi soft" folder ?

Yes Big Grin took me several looks before I noticed that I had two Ubisoft folders, even though they were spelled slightly different. So far it is all good and I really like HSFX a lot. Still trying to figure out how to get some good missions for offline happening, but I will get it soon.

Cheers, Jeff
