Few more planes...First post

I have a few suggestions for new planes...Here they are:

The Dewoitine D.520
http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/mm13 ... -61940.jpg
One of those "too little, too late" planes that originated from countries that were overrun within a few weeks or more of Nazi invasion.
Agreed to be the best homegrown French fighter among historians, it was fast, maneuverable, and deadly in close combat, but there were simply not enough to stave off defeat.

Fokker D.XXI
http://www.militaryfactory.com/imagevie ... escriptor=
Essentially the same story as the 520. Good aircraft from minor country (Holland) not enough made to counter nazis.

Fairey Firefly
http://www.militaryfactory.com/imagevie ... escriptor=
An underrated and ignored success story. Mainly a carrier-based ground attack plane with performance similar to the Tempest.

Fairey Fulmar
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairey_Fulmar
Carrier-based heavy fighter with performance similar to the hurricane.

Bloch Mb.170-178 variants
http://www.dassault-aviation.com/en/pas ... 8.html?L=1
Another "too little, too late" story with this one. A light bomber/recon aircraft with excellent handling, speed and manueverability for its type.

Bloch MB.157
http://www.airwar.ru/image/idop/fww2/mb157/mb157-1.jpg
The supreme model of the 150 series of Bloch. Essentially deadly, manuverable, and very tough, once again, there were too little, too late.

Tempest Mk.II
http://kits.kitreview.com/images/sh72103reviewgp_5.jpg
A variant of the Tempest with a centaurus radial engine. Very popular with pilots for its excellent handling and lack of engine torque, a fault with the Mk.V. Entered service in November 1945 (missing the war) but would have been a excellent asset if the war did extend into 1946 and ended in early '47.

P-47M Thunderbolt with x6 20mm guns
http://www.hsgalleries.com/gallery04/images/p47m012.jpg
(this picture that I provided does not show the 20mm guns, but there was a plan to add them on this plane that would have been used in 1946)
A faster, more manuverable P-47 with increased bomb capacity due to removing unnecessary internal storage, decreasing range but increasing speed. An outstanding aircraft. Made scores against Me-262s, Ar-234s, and even the Me-163!

Fokker G.1
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fokker_G.1
Dutch heavy fighter with lethal armament, too little, too late. Also very tough and manueverable for its size.

The Fokker D.XXI is already available in the 4.09 official patch and the Fairey Fulmar is available in several mod packs.
I'm not sure if the Fairey Firefly has been made, i know i have 2 Fairey planes, but not sure if it's the Firefly.

I don't think anybody has made those other planes.

Sorry, my bad. I haven't downloaded any mods since I just got 1946 and it's acting up, and my dad is refusing to reinstall it because "I won't get anything out of it". :veryangry:

What is WIP?

WIP is Work in progress, which means it is a working progress until the product is finished.

Hi guys,

FYI - Bloch = Marcel Bloch (French/jewish aircraft engineer) = Marcel Dassault

After WWII he change his familiy name to Dassault to honor his brother who was murdered by the nazis and who used this name as an
undercover name durring his duty with the french partisans "le maquis".

And as all of you might know, the Dassault Ltd. built some of the most beautiful jet airplane of the sixties/seventies, which are
the Ouragan, Mist

I would like to see the ''Fokker G1 luchtkruizer'' ingame(are there mods with this airplane?
It was pretty much on par, if not better than the BF 110)
and the Fokker XXIII(never produced, but 1946 has a lot of those ''prototype'' planes right?)

Koolhoven .58(made for france, i think), Schelde S21, Fokker T.V.(bommer) man, holland had a lot of planes that aren't in the game ( yes, i am dutchWink )

hmm thats to bad.. it's the only decent dutch fighter.
I'm somewhat dissapointed in the DXXI in the game, with it's performance that is.
It's no match, what so ever, for the german planes.. not to mention the japanese Sad

The P-47M-1RE was never used in the ground attack role and was never equipped with bombs. It was an air superiority fighter all the way. As far as I can tell, there was no actual plan to use 20mm cannons on the P-47M. Even if there was such a plan, it never would have made it. Towards the end of the war, the USAAF wanted escort fighters as opposed to interceptors and air superiority fighters. The USAAF also thought that the jet age was upon them and all jets would be superior to props. That's why the XP-72 died. That's probably why the P-47M never had more than one production block. Sure, it was a great fighter that could be tuned up and run to speeds above 500mph, but the Army perferred jets. Sorry... If you're looking for American 1946 fighters, allow me to make some suggestions...

P-51J-NA

This is typically considered the ultimate Mustang and was the only experimental lightweight type that was seriously considered as a production fighter. The XP-51F and XP-51G were used to make the P-51H, but the XP-51J was a faster version powered by an Allison engine that got the better of it in testing, but was eventually fixed for use on the P-82 series. As a note, the P-51J would have most likely been capable of speeds in excess of 500mph since the XP-51G proved to perform much better than actually expected. It would have also been possible to see for Operation Downfall since all the Twin Mustangs, including those with the fixed Allison engines, had been produced by 1946.

YP-81-CO

This would have been the improved service test variant of the XP-81-CO which was developed as a hybrid powered escort fighter and killed at the end of the war. The YP-81 was promising in that it used upgraded engines.

P-80N-NT

This would have been the North American version of Lockheed's Shooting Star. It was planned to be produced at the Dallas plant, but was killed with VE-Day meaning that it was probably intended for European service. Had this been the case, Misawa type tanks would have probably been developed early as an attempt to extend the range of this jet fighter.

Here's some that would have certainly been around in 1946...
