cool, but to be honest why they waste time with the Polikarpov R-5 when they could use their skills to update planes that are more important and are starting to show its age like the He-111? I wish more people was following the way that JapanCat started...

I did a quick check of wikipedia about the R-5 and apparently ~7000 were built in 19 different civil/military variants. 4914 of the base R-5 variant alone were produced and used heavily in WWII and the preceding conflicts. This number is larger than any one variant of the He111 although I agree that a refresh of the Heinkel is badly needed (along with some true late-war variants). Given the size of the R-5 fleet I think it is very hard to argue against its inclusion in IL-2. I look forward to shooting it down

P.S. The Hs129B looks sexy and it will most likely become my main ride once it is out.

Umm... so you already know what we are going to add to the list every week?
And yes, we are working with people outside of our team. Call them modders if you will.

didnt they say they want to make G.55 and Re.2000 cockpits?... Ok, maybe in 4.11... but the Hs 129 looks truly awesome!
