Here is a link for a new map in progress. It features the western areas of present day Saudi Arabia, previously named the Kingdom of the Hejaz and the Emirate of Ha'il. It is a desert map obviously, and contains very few towns and roads. Since Saudi conjures up a mental image not only of a sea of sand but also a sea of oil, I've added a few oilfields to the map, even though these are not in a correct geographical location, the oil fields being in the eastern part of the country, off-map. But it was too good to pass up, for oil fields are wonderful targets - either to protect or attack and set alight.
Textures are all new 1024 and were taken from Google earth images not far from the actual map area.
Coastal water texture is by Bombsaway - resident water texture expert - and adds that extra little touch that so makes or breaks the atmosphere of a map. Many thanks for his assistance.
The Hejaz was not involved in any military operations in WWII (as opposed to the Great War) so the map should be regarded as a place to fly for fun, for dogfighting or for use in alternate history scenarios. One can envisage a thrust south into Saudi after a German take-over of Egypt and the Suez Canal for instance, or an Italian offensive to the north after advancing into the Sudan from Abyssinia. Other possibilities are an Israeli strike in the post-war world. Your imagination is the limit as the saying goes.
You will most emphatically need the dlv_Egypt Objects mod and the objects from Cannons Channel map as well. Please be sure that you have these installed before trying to save and/or fly a mission.

Here are a few images to give an idea of the map. These were rather hastily taken and do not do really show the desert landscape as it should be.
