Sounds like you went wrong at 4.09b...you don't need that. You need a fresh 4.07m, patched up to 4.08m, up to 4.09m (make a copy of your main il2 folder now and save it somewhere incase you need it...you don't want to have to go through the last few steps all over again at some stage), you should then have a fresh 4.09m that you can add either UP2.0 (Full version) or HSFX4.0 & HSFX4.1 to.
HSFX torrent thingys seem ok to me, have you used torrents before? Are you using utorrent?
Thanks for the reply nzwilliam! What's the difference between UltraPack 2.0 and HSFX4.x ? If i'am correct there are two different ways to install mods: UP and HSFX? What happend to UI? I know this all sounds stupid but i didn't play 1946 for a long time...
After installing from DVD (1946 ) i have to patch to 4.08 and after that patch to final 4.09 final and forget the Beta 4.09... Will give this a try...
The torrents @ 242 didn't work...
UI is outdated, as it is included in HSFX....and HSFX is included in UP2.0. So it's up to you which one you want to install. They both have the same things (UP2.0 might have a few extras). From what I understand, if you are going to play offline a lot, use UP. If you are going to be playing on the servers, use HSFX. I use UP2.0. But, it's up to you.
maybe you are right....i just thought there were some things in there that aren't "properly credited" and maybe some things that aren't "legal" to use online....like weapons changes and FM's being played with. But maybe I'm wrong. I was always just as confused with the differences as a lot of people. Just going by what people have told me. UP2.0 has more stuff in it, and as an offline player, I went with UP.
There's really nothing about UP or HSFX that makes one or the other more or less suitable for online or offline play. UP is more amenable to additional mods, since the HSFX installer actually DELETES your MODS and Files folders. That said, however, it is not a problem to put them back, if you know what you're doing.
Flying online is often more a matter of knowing what the server you fly on runs, and making sure you are compatible with that, particularly with respect to which Zuti DSMod is running, if any. Warbirds of Prey servers, for example, run UP 2.0, so if you fly on their servers, that's what you need.
As far as the flap about FM changes in UP, in the latest BugFix patch for UP 2.0, Hades has separated out the few planes which have altered FMs (which are not stock Oleg planes, BTW) so that users can select altered FM or not for those few planes.

I'm sorry fellas, but I can't really see that much of a difference in the FM's in question, if there even is any, You know how things get started in anything anymore, so, like Bulau said, they weren't stock to begin with. I just feel like that if I keep adding more and more mods, one day the universe will implode on us, or at least the ole computer, LOL
