I tried adding text in the file like you do to air.ini to both static.ini and technics.ini but the game crashes at 70%. am I missing i step or what?

static aircraft don't work like that.

you need specific class files for them. you cannot add a fyable just b adding text to these inis.
you must download either a static mod (wherever evailable) that brings the class files or for example install a Pack like UP2.0 which has static for almost all mod planes included...
