Wow, all I can say is this is amazing. I can't wait to take the P-38G out to escort B-25D's in the Pacific or tear up Bf 109's over the Mediterranean. I do have a couple questions though...
I heard that the new P-38G doesn't have the loadout of one 310gal and one 165gal drop tanks centered for the mission to intercept Yamamoto. Were you planning on adding that in a later update or anything?
Now that we're all patiently awaiting your early Lightnings, were you considering reworking the later P-38J and P-38L to bring them up to the standards of your work? I heard that they were okay, but not the greatest and that there were compressibliity issues and I thought it would be nice to have something made by a master like yourself to replace them.
My last question... Have you thought at all of making some of the more unusual Lightnings, like the Pathfinder, P-38M Night Lightning, or the F-5 rece Lightnings? There's even P-38K that was made, but never used... I even heard talk around here once about a "P-38R-LO" that had clipped wings based off of the Spitfire, the reworked and smoother body of the P-38K, Merlin engines, and the bubble-canopy that was tested on the Swordfish for 1946. All of the developments were probable if the war had continued, they were just never combined on a single plane... Anyways, I've started rambling... Just some food for thought, nothing more...

Hi,
First of many thanks for the the earlier types of the P-38 in UI1.2!
One Question,I want to include the P-38G or Hs in my DCG Solomons 1943-45 Campaign but wich P-38 should I take?
Thanks in advance!
The P-38F-1 was the first P-38 in the Pacific, on Guadalcanal, in November 1942 with P-38G-5's following shortly thereafter.
Based on photographic evidence, if the captions are correct, the P-38G-15 and H's showed up in the Pacific in May of '43. Without researching the specific squadron records of the Pacific it will be difficult to narrow down each sub-type to a specific month with any real accuracy.

Okay,thanks for the info,2bits!
Greetings!
So, I read the other day that the F-5E was the best recon plane available during the war... You know, with these great new Lightnings, I would just die if you, Gibbage, would make an F-5E, or even a Pathfinder. Anyways, my dreams aside, could someone please tell me if the P-38J and P-38L will be brought up to par with the earlier models you kindly gave us. In the mean time, I think I'll go take down some Zeros. The 20mm really makes them light up...
Deac ...
What it it be, P51 or a new 38 or a new ....
How's your 3D max studies turning out? As you know, we need the help.
Hi Gibbage, I'm just wondering if it will be possible to remap the textures so that the skins being reversed on one side of the 38's is fixed?
Other than that..great news.
Cheers, MP
Yeah, I keep saying that 3D Max isn't for me... I couldn't even make a sphere if I tried.
Can we see any screenshots or video of the early '38s ?
Hi there, I have been asking at various sites UP and SAS and now here, I can see the P-38 F, G and H in the arming screen, all the ini. entries are correct
but the P-38s won't load. I get a "Null" message. I am really hoping to fly these planes any idea of what I might need to fix this.
Thank you for your work
Cheers, Bob
If you get HSFX you will get the latest P38's
That simple
If you got a "Null" message with these birds It comes from FMs of these planes in the Buttons files
I found this mistake when I give the SaS 4.4 FMs into C6 pack and last Ultimate sound mod from Tiger_33
Here are the lines involved in the FMs of the Early P-38s:
[Engine]
Engine0Family Allison_V1700_Reeks
Engine0SubModel V-1710-29
Engine0Family Allison_V1700_Reeks
Engine1SubModel V-1710-27
With these ones it work better:
[Engine]
Engine0Family Allison_V1700_Reeks
Engine0SubModel V-1710-29
Engine1Family Allison_V1700_Reeks
Engine1SubModel V-1710-27
