Another little tidbit about the A26 Invader...

After it was re-designated to the B26 during Korea, they went to use them in Vietnam, but at the time they weren't allowed to have bombers in Vietnam. It was redesignated again back to the A26 because an Attack Plane was not a bomber.........

Close. Actually they wanted to base them in Thailand for use over Laos, but the Thai government restricted their airfields from use by US bombers. Thus the name change. The B-26K/new A-26A was damn near a new aircraft.
