[MOD][BETA] JapanCat Bf-109 v0.086 *UPDATE*

guys, what you don't seem to understand is that JapanCat is stating 2 simple things:

1) I picked up an old 3d model and gave it a good refurbish, having it looking more like the real thing (even if not 100% perfect, which is impossible to obtain because of the game limitations).
2) Unless it's major flaws, I'm not gonna put my hands on it anymore. If you don't agree, tough luck...

On my end, all I can tell you is thank you again for this great improvement JapanCat, things are even gonna be cooler when the new 109 pack is released, so cheer up fellas and stop complaining, it's whiners that make good modelers give up on their free work!!!

The 109 3D models have had many modders look over them and what we currently now have is as accurate as we can get with the limations of the IL-2 engine. Sure something can have more polys, but then you start to have issues on low-end systems. JapanCat and I have been working damn hard to get all the updates done for ALL 109 models and this will be released at SAS as the Ultimate 109 Pack v2.0. We will also be posting our fixes to the HSFX team for inclusion. If you guys are still not happy with the 100+ hours we have put into these fixes, you are happy to learn how to mod and fix yourselves.

It is my aim to get this pack out within a fortnight, so not long to wait now.

Alex T. Wrote:I agree with the first part of your statement, but factory blueprints are 100% accurate!!! You might not want to take into account side views where eletrical or hydraulical plants are shown, but a dimensional drawing from the factory drawing table is accurate to the millimetre (yes, even in the '30s)!!!

You're right, I was writing gibberish there. I've seen a few instances where these side views have been mistaken as being a true dimensional drawing and this is what I was getting at.

I see what you mean GBrutus Smile

you have no idea how much damage all the self proclaimed "aeroplane experts" made to the world of simulation/modeling etc.. some people would make things up just to get attention, God knows why they don't try and get a life..

Just curious, I wanna ask you 109 modeling experts, is there a aircraft polygon limitation of the il2 graphic engine? I just saw some WIP pics from TT, they surely had made a great 3d model of the G2 tropical. 2 bad, I am planing to play their game, since they don't have so much plane to choose from. But I am think, say if someone manage to get the 109 blueprint and using 3dmax, could we also make some detail model like that, in the future? I hope so! Just look at that sexy baby! Big Grin

@musikerz

What flight sim is that?

The model in the object viewer is clearly very high poly, almost certainly more than the Il2 engine can handle, but the lower poly in-game model would be much more manageable, and well within the limitations of the Il2 engine. The only problem might be the Skin texture, which looks to be more than the normal 1024x1024 used by Il2, but I'm sure this could be changed, one way or another.

Well, I don't know much about TW, so I am kinda curious about your statement, y it is not much of a sim? Care to enlighten us? Smile

Hi, David603, so do you know about the polygon limitation of il2 graphic engine? Is it possible for il2 to process something like this model? I surely hope so!

just an old, patchy FM and a seldom care for anything else that is not the planes themselves. Horrible overall graphics but nice looking planes, think Flight Simulator but with guns.. as I said, rubbish..
