What graphics card are you using? Open GL is what the game prefers to run on. Also check your reslolution in the setup in the game IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 folder. I'm running that on 1152x864 32 bit Use stencile buffer. On my config.ini I have my stettings as this...

The nvidia 9800 is what I'd like to have but the 9400 I have now is good.Try water on 2, you may not get the white caps but it shouldnt slow you down.
Thanks fellas, I think I have it now, but I don't have a folder called water. And yes I will create one, but what is the correct path to have this folder in ? Do I take them out of your Tarawa folder, then go to land, summer, then create the folder in there ? Which part of the Tex folder should I have it in guy's ? :-?

Sorry for the delay in answering your question, real life has been a pain lately. Make a folder in the _tex folder named water then you can take the texture out of my tarawa folder and place it in the water folder then in your load.in at the bottom where it wil say water2= make the entry read like this...
water2= water/Shallows6a_Fields_A.tga
Unless your texture has my BA_ in front of it then make it BA_Shallows_fields_A.tga

I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this..
Apart from all the conf.ini entries they put up, it is very important you also have: Hardwareshaders=1
Without that, water will look standard no matter what value you put.
But where can the map be found?
