Any "Object" makers wanting a project?.....
#1

Do we have any object makers available here? With the New New Guinea map coming out we need a number of objects that are really missing from much of the sim (all area's the Japanese fought) yet in most cases could be made using existing objects.

If someone is willing to make them I'd be glad to supply references.

Static Objects needed:
Starter Trucks
Search Light Trucks
Camouflaged Barges
Camouflaged Junks
Camouflaged Freighters
Various Huts and Buildings
Various Huts and Buildings Camouflaged
Gun Battery Emplacements
Camouflaged Revetments
Drop Tank and Bomb Piles/Stacks
Radar installations
Destroyed Aircraft
Gardens
Destroyed Trees

Active Objects:
Aircraft with engines running yet unmoving
Various AAA guns/cannon with somewhat accurate bursts
Explosive Trees (Enemy Aircraft flys within 50 meters they go off like a bomb)

The static objects alone would do wonders and many can be made from existing objects.

Why not a static camera moving? (ok, if it moves is no more static...)
Will be very useful for making movies

Not "naturally," but the japanese did use proximity-fused explosives in the trees to help deter the USAAF's low-level strafing attacks...

I agree with this list- the pacific theater really needs some new objects to have some realistic low-level attacks.

After the attacks beginning mid August 43 upon the Wewak complex of bases and all others continuing on through mid 44, the Japanese realized after the almost daily attacks that the 5th Airforce was utilizing a new weapon though one that did not scare them as much as the heavies on the whole yet was clearly more precise and efficient.....The Strafers in the form of A-20s and B-25's.

Though having numerous spotters and listening posts, rather crude and ineffective radar, and after a short while even able to prepare for the attacks as one officer put it "like clockwork the enemy attacking the same time each day", this new threat they had little to no defense against.

Heavies they had a fair chance. Have patrols waiting, listen, kick on the search-lights and hammer them with flak like the allies had not seen in the Pacific up to that date, then take cover before the bombs hit and hopefully get another shot at them once having passed........In contrast though B-25's are outrageously loud, the terrain to some degree masked the noise so direction as well as visual sightings. So the best they could hope for were fighters spotting the enemy though usually tied up with allied fighters, and simply due to what it takes to swing an anti-aircraft gun for the most part had to simply use light machine guns during the pass which was obviously risky. In the end, the strafers flying so low most flak guns or even light rapid fire cannon were worthless either unable to arm so close, swing fast enough, or get more then a few if light, or 1-2 rounds out if heavy all under direct fire..........If lucky they'd get to make shots IF, if the strafers turned out to sea.

To that end, two methods were devised for trying to knock them down. The first being air to air bombs of clustered phosphorous munitions......The second and much more practical was to set/attach in the tree tops at the ends of the strips yet more so on the ridges, explosives (some phosphorous and some HE with no doubt shrapnel) wherein upon the commencement of the attack those assigned would rush to their designated points and wait.......As a plane would pass over low enough to the tree, they would manually (no doubt electrically from a distance) set off the explosives......The ultimate effectiveness debated.

So not your part of the world I guess...........I live where if there is a will there is a way, not just cute comments.

No object makers interested?

I am personally interested but at the moment all 3D modelers as busy. I'm sure as soon as there is time they will be done. Same applies to that venturi.

Yes, I would also like to point out some things that would make for some very interesting
Mission Map making...

Trucks and tractors, perhaps a few bulldozers and caterpillar heavy construction machinery.

Various Huts and Buildings for Island map-making. Another idea would be to create some
"natives" and Hula-Hula girls to go along with huts.

Drop Tank and Bomb Piles/Stacks would be great. ALso tire stacks.

Radar installations are also welcomed

Destroyed Aircraft parts or at least a few airplane engines on top of tables being fixed/repaired.

Sorry to jump back in the thread, but I have always thought that part of this sim should be a damaged/destroyed version of each aircraft and vehicle in the object list - this this should be accessible in the FMB - as should partial damages to aircraft and partial ammo loads to all armed ac/objects. And since I have pounced on this, it would be excellent if ground units out of supply - no route to friendly lines, should suffer from ammo shortage, and their firepower should be adjusted - to dwindle and stop, unless ammunition carriers - vehicles, trains and/or ships made it into the lines of supply - now ammo transport becomes a key to operational success - as it is.

I know I left orbit a bit here - the AC damage and ammo supply accessible in the FMB, and the damaged destroyed models of all objects were my point.

Bump!

.......The New New Guinea map has got to be getting close! I have the historical info including photos, yet not the modelling experience....

C'mon guys, every little bit helps, who can make some objects? (Many simply needing an alteration of existing objects then shoved in a new slot).

What might help BF is if we could identify which objects can be cloned and edited or if we had photos, someone could just start creating them when they had time.
