Korean War assets
#1

Hey guys, just a quick question, but do you guys know what the HSFX installers add Korean war wise, and what else do I need to download that is not included in the installers, I.E. Maps and F-86/Mig 15 ect.

Thanks in advanced, and I hope to be flying in Mig Alley in no time.

This might miss something, and not be completely historically accurate, but with the base 4.09m plus HSFX 4.1 you get the following that could be used in Korean War missions:

KTO(3BG) map (Korea, summer)
KTO Winter(3BG) (Korea, winter)

B-29, 1944
C-47, A, B, 1936, 42
F4U 1, 1A, 1C, 1D, 1944, 45
F9F-2 Panther, 1949
F-86A-5 Sabre, 1949
F-86F-25E Sabre, 1953
F-86F-25L Sabre, 1953
F-84G1 ThunderJet 1955
F-84G2 ThunderJet 1955 (don't think those years are correct, though)
F-51D-30NA, 1948
F-80A ShootingStar, 1946
F-80C ShootingStar, 1948
Stinson L5 Sentinel, 1942
IL-10, 1945
MiG-15 (bis), 1950
MiG-15(bis)late
Tu-2S, 1943
Yak-3 variants, 1944, 45
Yak-9B, 1944
Yak-9U variants, 1944, 45

You could use La-7 as sub for La-9

Probably something else I've missed or don't know about...

Ok, so these are already included with 4.1 then? I seem to have a problem, I have installed 4.08, 4.09 and then the HSFX and patched that to 4.1 also, but I see no mod manager jsgme.exe in my game directory. However, I do see a folder that is named jsgmemods. I really don't want to reinstall everything.

The jsgmemods IS your main mods folder. it has mods that can be activated and deactivated, but the Korean stuff is in the SFS files that you cannot access seperately. They load when the game loads, so you should have no problems getting the Korean maps and planes to work. At least I don't. I use HSFX 4.1. You do, however, need to activate the HSFX mod in the JSGME activator in order to use those maps and planes because they are not stock.

Ok, well, so far I have not seen this mod activator .exe nor the Yellow G.exe in the game folders. I just reinstalled my game and 4.08 & 4.09 patches. I am running the HSFX 4.0 installer right now, and I will test it out then install the 4.1 next.

I am running Windows XP sp3, and have it instaled to my program files. I hope this works, as I have consulted with a fellow flyboy on Hyperlobby and still had no luck with his instructions.

Edit: Ok the mods folder did install, but none of the .exe's in the game folder for activading said mods exsist....

Double Edit: I have an idea, can someone send me JUST the jsgme.exe and the G.exe found in the game dIrectory? I am positive that I have corectly installed the HSFX mods, but maybe, just maybe, it would work for me with simply adding these 2 exe's to my game directory.

Triple Edit, He guys, I found that the installed placed the other things in the wrong folder, so it should be ok now. Thanks for all the help.

I too loaded HSFX 4.1, and it all works really well, but the korean assets appear not to exist. I have run JGSME and activated HSFX, but there is nothing except the F9F Panther showing up. I have, however, got the korean maps in FMB

I'd appreciate any ideas you may have

No idea, I have found the F86 and Mig 15's, and all seems to work fine.

Dragline, go through the plane list in QMB line-by-line. The plane you're looking for may not be where you expect it to be. If you've got HSFX 4.11, they're in there.
