Hi, is there a mod around here where it makes trees mnore solid like in il2 birds of prey, so if ur wing clips a tree, itll break off?

Hmmm... I think this happens already, I hit a treetop with my Lerche once and broke off my landing gear...

yeah....they've been ripping wings off since IL2 first came out. Maybe you aren't trying hard enough to hit them? :lol:

hmm, ive flown straight thru quite alot of trees, especialy when emergency landing, were u guys in qmb? if so, what map? im usually on smolensk

I have flown through trees on the side of roads landing and nothing happens.
I think some of the computer generated trees dont have any effect on the aircraft.

This would be a good mod, it would add a little more realism.
And there are two types of trees, the ones by the roads and in fields, and the ones that are ment to be big dense forrests - which im sure we've all flown into.

I think they are added statically. Auto-gen trees, on my install, won't damage my plane if I hit them. I can fly really low through trees and not suffer any damage

The lower poly trees are the ones you can hit. Then there are the dreaded "invisible trees". Those are the ones that the put on maps to simulate a forest.

Man... i always hit those invisible trees.
I say the trees should be modded so they aren't flat on the sides which makes them invisible, could it be done?

probably, all you'd have to do is change the texture i believe (im not a modder, skinner etc. so im just guessing)

It's the trees that are added by the forest=3 setting that have no damage model, hence you can fly through them. If you set your conf.ini to forest=2 you will have less trees but they will be all effective weapons
