Why am I leading the squadon in DCG campaign?
#1

It's not that I don't want the responsibility to lead a squadon, but i do enjoy the "work my way up" feeling. I get a lot more excited when i get promoted in campaign because victories, but in DCG, i would lead the squadon regardless my ranking, and it takes away the thrill of "climb the ladder" so even though as a ensign or a pilot officer, i am in charge of the entire squadon no matter what, even though my wing mand might be a major or Lt Col. any work around?

oh by the way, whenever i start a shipborn mission, my planes are always parked in a horizontal column, preventing me extending the wings, any one know how to solve this?

Because you made your rank too high.
If you want someone else (AI) to lead, choose SGT, Flight Officer, 2nd LT, 1st LT, Ensign, LTJG etc.....

Basically, any rank O-2 or below.

Though I fly through the valley of death, I will fear no evil.....
For I am the meanest SOB in the valley!

no i didn't, i always start with the lowest rank and work my way up. my Gunny Sgt is leading a major and two captains, and that's not right realistically.

Easy to fix. After flying the first mission and before hitting apply to load the next mission, minimize the game and open the DCG GUI. Go to the manage squadron page and select your name from the pilots list and swap it with the highest ranking pilot on the list. Now make sure you go to the Custom Mission Panel and select save /close and then close the program. Now maximize your game and hit APPLY. Wola! You are now back down the ladder and will stay in that position until you either lose too many planes or you move yourself back up.
