Hello,
I can't climb to 10000 in less than 3 minutes as stated on YouTube videos to intercept bombers with the Me-163. I can barely take off and release the carriage (which explodes by the way), but when I initiate an 80
Won't landing with the ski crash the plane on the runway because of sparkles? Logically it would have to land on grass or in a field because it is smoother. Am I right?
Still can't get the plane to climb to 10000m in less than 3minutes. I keep stalling...Is there a specific command to activate?
it used a ski because there wasn't room for retractable landing gear, also they would have been to heavy.
Actually you do gain speed in a climb, but don't climb immediately, fly straight and level for a bit to gain some speed, then start climbing at a steeper angle. This is actually the easiest plane in the game to keep fast. Once above the bombers, I find diving on them with NO power, gives you enough speed to avoid the gunners, but not too much speed, so you have a few precious seconds more to aim. Re-ignite your rocket to climb away, and repeat the process as many times as you dare, or your fuel and ammo allow. If your are lucky you'll bag up to half a dozen bombers, although the game awards kills rather generously, for example planes you never witness crash, or planes that you damaged and were later hit by flak.
When landing, indeed in real life grass fields were used, but once your are landing you have basically transformed into a glider, and if you've ever seen a glider land, you'll know it's a very elegant and gentle process. You'll be at a very low speed.
Video got the other half of the fuel wrong. It didn't use Z-Stoff, it used C-Stoff, which was essentially hydrazine hydrate with methanol to make it a clean burn.
Actually he is, because he also describes what the "Z-Stoff" is made of, and that is actual Z-Stoff he describes. Z-Stoff was used as a catalyst for the T-Stoff, but it wasn't one of the main fuel components.
Also, I've seen the entire footage for the refuelling, and there were two trucks: one had a big "T" on it and the other had a big "C". There was no truck with a "Z" on it.
